This week for reading we got to chose 3 articles from kiwi kids news and they all have to be in different categories, for example: World, Sport, Health, Odd news, National and business.

The three categories I did is:

Odd news,

Health

World

For my first article I did message in a bottle arrives in NZ, which is in the Odd news category. The reason why I chose this one was because it remembered me about pirates or in the old days. In the article did you know it was from a Greek sailor who has never been to New Zealand. I found out that it was in the ocean for months, and the article was interesting because I was not expecting that it was going to end up in New 

Zealand.

  

For my second article I did Stress Which is in the heath category. I thought this was a good article to read because sometime I get into a lot of stress. did you know that stress is cause by physical challenges, this was interesting because stress can make your heart beat faster. I found out that you can prevent stress by:

Get enough sleep

Get regular exercise

Do something every day that helps you to relax.

And eat healthy food and nutrition every day

And for my last article I read China sends three astronauts into space which is in the world category. I picked this one because I really like space, I figured out that This trip will be China’s first crewed mission. did you know that for the past 6 months China has active in a space exploration programme. I found this article interesting because they will be spending 3 months in space.

Math Knowledge

Math Knowledge

This week for math we had to do a test called Math Knowledge and we had to do it before morning tea so I did it on Friday and my goal was Know groupings of 10’s, 100’s & 1000s in 7 digit numbers. once we did it we had take a pitcher of it in our book and take a screen shot, then put it on my blog.

Reading Wk6 T2

 For reading we had to find a book on epic and make a character wed about it. If you don't know what a character wed is you just put the mean character in the middle and branch of other character that are important to the story. after that you write above it what they did or what they have done. The book I did was called Nellie Nutgraf book 1.

The Race of Math

 I think this week for math was the best I have had in a long time because we got to make a game for Top Team and we had to base it of from the math we learnt this week. my game is called The Race of Math because it is a race, you have to hop through the ladder and get to the white bored and answer one of the questions and then ran to the back of the line of four. First Team to finished all four questions wins.

Show not tell

 This week for writing we were learning what show not tell is. so it mean to show something and not tell it, and we had to write one about our Tūrangawaewae. that means a place to stand.

and this is my one hope you like it.

Cool clear cold water, crunchy crispy chippy fish and chips.   

The air is as fresh as a ready barked cookie.    

And Margaret many is a storm of joy.

This is the best place because it is so much fun.

This Is the best place because it is teaming with nature.

This is the best place because you can see the Maori culture everywhere.

you can do so many fun things here,

Like going on a Waka,

Or go to the museum and see some of our culture.

We are leaning to use a strategy that helps us expand sentences.

1, They had an argument

When: Two weeks ago.

Where: In the car.

Why: About a song.

Two weeks ago in the car they had an argument about a song.

When: At night.

Where: At his house.

Why: When he had to go to bed.

At night Oscar cried at his house because he had to go to bed.

Wk 9/10 Math

This week for Math we did Reflection Rotation Translation Enlargement.

so I'm going to tall  you what Reflection Rotation Translation Enlargement is so buckle in and enjoy the ride.

For the first thing is Reflection. So Reflection is like if you do something on one side it has to be the same on the other just like this.

If you are wounding what red, white and black thing is well it is a Kōwhaiwhai pattern and I think that they are really cool.

Now for Rotation. Rotation is when you like turn some thing in a 90, 180, 270 and 360 degrees angle. my favorite angle is 360 if you did not know, if you are confused just look at this.

You now it is Translation. so Translation is like when you slide a thing from one spot to another. when you do this you have to have a graph to help you to understand.

Lastly Enlargement. it just making shapes bigger. BUT! you need to measure the sides and Times that by 2 and then make the sides of the bigger shape your answer.
